The purpose of the project is that the participants through cooperation will get an opportunity to establish some of the cross-border citizen-to-citizen contacts that are vital for our common future and a more globalised world. At the same time the participants will create results that other citizens in Denmark, Turkey the EU and the rest of the world can utilize. The Global Citizen project is about creating an overview over and an insight into the challenges and opportunities the entire world society is faced with. It is about democracy, human rights, economy, energy, transport, social issues, the environment and much more. In this project Society and Democracy Association and International Republican Institute (IRI) make joint workshops for NGOs in different cities of Turkey which is about improving their technical capacities.
The International Forum for Peace and Democracy (IFFPD) is a global affiliation of like-minded democratic leaders with a common vision for the upliftment of all mankind. The organisation’s creation was prompted by the International Visiting Leadership Programme (IVLP) of the State Department of the United States of America. 74 activists from 42 countries, including heads of political parties, NGO representatives, and academics attended the 2007 general assembly. The forum’s general objective is to contribute to world sustainable peace, to maintain equal partition of the resources and spreading democratic network in all locations over the world. Overall, the project will contribute to global democracy attempts, in order to coordinate the rearrangement of all social spheres democratically in home and abroad. In the light of these efforts, IFFDP is working together with more than 17.000 mailing list members (alumni of U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs) from all around the world.
Training program for women entrepreneurs and businesswomen. In this project the businesswomen and women organizations give lecture to the women to gain entrepreneurial spirit. The aim of the Women’s Entrepreneurial School Project is to increase the awareness of the experience and participation to the business life of the women working at different SMEs. They are the Women Entrepreneurs who manage their own companies and/or managers at SMEs. 40 entrepreneurs of this school between the ages of 25 to 40 will have a 1,5- month training program and lectures will be given by the academicians, opinion leaders in the sector and business leaders. Program will be a voluntary based project.
Training program for youth which comes from different cities of Turkey. In this project the intellectuals and academicians of Turkey give lecture to the young participants in one month period in Istanbul.
